At the moment the product search on the Products page works differently from the product search when you add lines to a quote or project.
On a quote or project, the search is broad. You can type part of a product name in any order, for example “TPR Soft”, and it returns all the matching products.
On the Products page, the same search returns nothing. To find a product there you have to type the exact product code or the exact wording of the name.
This makes the Products page hard to use day to day. We have a large catalogue across several suppliers, and our team often doesn’t know the exact code. They end up opening a quote just to find a product, then going back to the Products page to edit it.
What we’d like:
The Products page search to use the same broad matching as the quote and project line search (partial words, words in any order, across both code and name).
Or, if the two need to stay separate, a toggle on the Products page for “broad search”.
This was raised with support under ticket #29972. Henrik confirmed the two search bars run on different logic and suggested we post it here so it can be considered in a future release.
