Lead fields allow you to insert information from a WorkGuru Lead into supported document templates.

These fields can be used to display information such as:

Document Compatibility

Lead fields are supported on the following document templates. When a lead is linked to a quote, you can then also print lead fields on the quote document templates as well.

Lead fields are Universal Fields, which means they can be placed directly within the supported document templates and do not need to be inside a repeating table.  Merge fields are case sensitive and must be entered exactly as displayed below.

Lead Information

Use these fields to display the primary information recorded against the Lead.

DescriptionMerge Field
Lead Name[LeadName]
Lead Number[LeadNumber]
Lead Description[LeadDescription]
Lead Category[LeadCategory]
Lead Budget[LeadBudget]

Lead Contact Fields

Lead Contact fields display information about the Contact associated with the Lead. The Lead Contact is the Contact associated with the Lead.

Lead Contact Email[LeadContactEmail]
Lead Contact Phone 1[LeadContactPhone1]
Lead Contact Phone 2[LeadContactPhone2]

Lead Owner Fields

Lead Pipeline Fields

These fields display information about where the Lead sits within your Lead workflow.

DescriptionMerge Field

DescriptionMerge Field
Lead Creation Date[LeadCreationDate]
Lead Forecast Close Date[LeadForecastCloseDate]
Lead Won or Lost Date[LeadWonOrLostDate]

Lead Activities (Table)

Lead Activities are separate from the Universal Lead fields in this article. To display multiple activities associated with a Lead, use a repeating Lead Activities table. Set the table’s Alt Text Description to: LeadActivities

Available Lead Activity fields include:

DescriptionMerge Field
Assigned User Name[LeadActivityFullName]
Activity Type[LeadActivityType]
Due Date[LeadActivityDueDate]
Completed Date[LeadActivityCompletedDate]
Activity Description[LeadActivityDescription]

WorkGuru repeats the applicable row for the Lead’s activities when the document is generated. For more information, see the Table Fields Reference.

Lead Notes (Table)

Lead Notes can also be displayed using a repeating Lead Notes table. Lead Note fields should be placed inside the correctly configured repeating table rather than used as Universal Lead fields.

Available Lead Note fields include:

DescriptionMerge Field
Note[NoteText]
User[NoteUser]
Date[NoteDate]
Date and Time[NoteDateTime]

WorkGuru repeats the applicable row for the Lead’s activities when the document is generated. For more information, see the Table Fields Reference.

Lead Custom Fields

Custom fields assigned to Leads can also be included in supported document templates. Use Custom followed by the custom field name. For example, if you have a Lead custom field name called:

LeadSource

the merge field would be:

[CustomLeadSource]

Custom field availability depends on how the custom field has been configured in WorkGuru. For more information, see the Custom Fields Guide.

Troubleshooting

Lead Fields Are Blank

Any field without a corresponding value may return blank as that is correct expected behaviour. Check that:

  • The required information has been entered against the Lead field.
  • If lead fields are on a quote template, ensure the the quote has a lead assigned.

Merge Fields Appear Instead of Values

If fields such as [LeadName] or [LeadOwnerFullName] appear in the generated document instead of their values, check:

  • Merge field spelling
  • Capitalisation
  • Document compatibility
  • That both square brackets are present

Merge fields are case sensitive.
