Stock - Disabling the WorkGuru Stock Module

Modified on Tue, 11 Feb at 11:36 AM

If you no longer require the need to track stock on hand, you can disable the WorkGuru stock module. Before switching off your inventory, you first need to check if you won't lose any functionality which requires the stock module.  You then need to ensure all stock on hand has been zeroed out before removing the module.

Review

Confirm you aren't using dependant functionality such as Stock Sales or Production Jobs.  These modules require the stock module to function.

Be aware you will lose access to the following dashboards and details:  Note: You do not lose access to the data. All historical data generated by the stock module will always be available via the relevant WorkGuru reports.

Preparatory Steps

Close out all stock related transactions in WorkGuru:

Conduct a full stock take to adjust out ALL stock on hand for all warehouses.  Export the count sheet and change the quantity of to zero for all products.   Note: the stock take will adjust out the FIFO value of all the stock on hand, not the unit costs entered in the stock take.

Using the Stock Levels at Date Pivot report (Reports -> Stock),  confirm the stock take has applied successfully and the stock on hand quantity is 0 and stock value is $0 for all warehouses for the current date.

Export and update your projects to switch all FIFO, Batch or Serialised product's TrackingType to NonStock.

Turn Off the Module

After confirming, there is no remaining stock on hand quantities or value and all products have been set to non-stock,  remove the stock module from your WorkGuru subscription.  Open your subscription management page (Administration -> Subscription) and click Enable Edit Subscription.  Select No from the Inventory Module dropdown and click Change Number of Users or Add/Remove Inventory Module to apply the changes.

Stock functions will now be removed from your WorkGuru tenant and menu.
