A production template is essentially a way to save the bill of materials of a product you make. The primary difference between a project and production template is the output line. NOTE: Production templates can not be used on quotes or projects. Project templates can not be used on production jobs.
You can create a template by clicking on the Add Project Template from the project template dashboard's Actions menu (Administration -> Project Templates).
From the add project template screen enter the following:
Actions button:
- Bulk Add Products - Bulk import product lines into a template to speed up data entry on more complex templates.
Overview tab:
- Name: Template Name
- Description: Additional information to help identify your Template
- Is Production Job Template: Ensure this is selected as this enables the output lines required for a production template.
- Project Phases: Add each phase and hit enter if using phases on your projects
- Project Custom Field Group - Assign a custom field group for projects to the template if required.
- Quote Custom Field Group - Assign a custom field group for quotes to the template if required.
- Output - Product(s) being produced. SKU must already exist as a stock controlled product in WorkGuru. The output lines are what are being produced and moved into stock on hand at the value of the following tasks and products.
- SKU - Output Sku
- Name - Output name
- Quantity - Quantity produced by the templates tasks and products bill of materials.
- Tasks - Click AddTask
- Name - Template task name.
- Phase - Select template phase from dropdown.
- Quantity - Template task quantity.
- SellPrice - Template task hourly sell rate.
- Billable - Template billable line checkbox.
- Optional - Template Quote options checkbox.
- Description - Template task description.
- Staff Allocation - Pre-allocate staff to the template task.
- Staff Teams - Pre-allocate teams to the template task.
- Tax Type - Template task tax type.
- Unit Cost - Template task hourly cost rate.
- Cost Multiplier - Template task's cost multiplier.
- Force Task Rate Costing on Timesheets? - Over-ride the actual costing on timesheets added to this task from the user's hourly cost to the task unit cost.
- To Do: - Enter or over-ride the task's to do list to suit the template.
- Products - Click Add Product or bulk import.
- SKU - Template product SKU.
- Name - Template product name.
- Phase - Select template phase from dropdown.
- Quantity - Template product quantity.
- Sell Price - Template product sell price.
- Billable - Template billable line checkbox.
- Optional - Template Quote options checkbox.
- Description - Template product description.
- Unit Cost - Template product cost price.
- Tax Type - Template product tax type.
Purchase Template tab:
- Purchase Templates - Search for and add purchase templates by name.
Click Save or Save and Continue Editing when complete.
Production templates are now available in the All and Production tabs on the project template dashboard.
