Currently the WorkGuru and Shopify integration does NOT sync available stock on hand. This is on the roadmap and will be released in an upcoming update.
Due to this, WorkGuru recommends the following steps to manually manage the available stock on hand made available to control product visibility your Shopify store:
- Dedicate a specific warehouse to manage stock allocation to online sales. This will let you match the stock on hand between the warehouse and Shopify that only Shopify orders will dispatch. You can transfer available stock into this warehouse and/or set specific re-order levels to purchase products specifically for online sales.
- After initial product sync, and on a regular schedule edit the products in Shopify to either
- Adjust stock on hand to match the stock on hand in the WorkGuru warehouse. Shopify allows you to do this in bulk over multiple products.
- Set the product to Continue selling when out of stock (bypass Shopify stock levels)
Product/order visibility is controlled completely in your Shopify settings. Shopify orders synced to WorkGuru without available stock on hand to dispatch immediately can be easily backordered if the supplier can fulfil in an appropriate time (just in time/drop shipped orders)
