WorkGuru has a number of methods to submit timesheets on projects and production jobs so you have flexibility to choose the method to capture labour/time costs as efficiently as possible.
All methods of timesheet entry require the selection of a project and task, with many options automating this for you. The requirement to enter a start and finish time, and/or length is dependant on if the timesheet type is set to Daily or Weekly.
Web Browser
If staff are primarily using a web browser logged into WorkGuru, they can enter time via the following ways:
User Dashboard
The user dashboard's My Timesheets widget allows staff to enter and monitor their timesheets. Generally it is assumed, regardless of roles and permissions, if the user has access to login to WorkGuru via the browser they will have access to at least their dashboard. If the My Timesheets widget is not available, click Set Defaults to reset the dashboard. If you are managing user dashboards, ensure that all users have the My Timesheets widget available. The Add A Time Sheet function will display differently depending on if the timesheet type is set to Daily or Weekly.
Browser Timer
The WorkGuru Timer is available via the clock icon in the header of any page in WorkGuru. Designed to be the quickest way to start and stop a timer to save as a timesheet from within the browser, especially if staff are primarily desktop based and are working on the same project and task over longer periods of time. Note: The timer is not available when the timesheet type is set to Weekly.
Project Dashboard
You can quickly enter a timesheet directly from the project dashboard. This is technically available to everyone who has permissions to view the projects, however, this method of timesheet entry is primarily assumed to be available only to a project manager (or equivalent) role as it provides the ability to add timesheets on behalf of other users.
Project Details
If the timesheet type is set to Daily, you can add timesheets directly from the quick actions menu on the project's detail page. This is technically available to everyone who has permissions to view the project details, however, this method of timesheet entry is primarily assumed only to be available to a project manager (or equivalent) role as it provides the ability to add timesheets on behalf of other users.
Kiosk
The kiosk is available to add timesheets via a web browser so it can be used on any device with a browser (optimised for PCs) as an alternative to the iOS and Android kiosk applications that require app-store access to download and install. Both timer, direct daily entry or weekly entry are supported.
iOS and Android Applications
Mobile Application
As the user is directly logged in, iOS and Android mobile applications are one of the quickest ways to get timesheets into WorkGuru. Both timer, direct daily entry or weekly entry are supported.
Kiosk Application
The iOS and Android kiosk applications allow you provide staff with a centralised, easy to use method to add timesheets, without requiring access to personal devices. Both timer, direct daily entry or weekly entry are supported.
